Ohio Update Feb 28

J30 Newsletter March 15

Gail Jonas, Tillie Botz, and Dan Ashby are going to Ohio on Friday January 28. They will be attending a citizens’ meeting on Sunday, January 31.  The emphasis will be on helping to organize the people in Ohio, which can act as a “hub” to attract national interest and support for electoral reform. Ohio citizens will be needed to help with investigations, and we will need a nationwide drive to help raise funds for experts in voting machine technology and related fields and for potential litigation. The goal is to prove that the 2004 election was not only flawed but also downright fraudulent.

At the meeting, the citizens will form committees to begin the work, and there will be two voting machine experts, Bev Harris of www.blackboxvoting.org and Larry English of http://www.infoimpact.com, to educate the audience on the problems with a voting process that is too vulnerable to mistakes and manipulation.

Gail and I are currently promoting hand counted paper ballots as the only way to protect the integrity of our votes, but we are eager to learn if there is another voting process using computers (touchscreens, optical scanners, etc.) that guarantees that our votes are accurately cast, collected and counted.
