Left.org is the successor to
ReDefeatBush, a federal PAC that raised about $350,000 in 2004 and spent it
engaging thousands of volunteers to make hundreds of thousands of telephone
calls to register tens of thousands of new voters in Pennsylvania and
Oregon. We organized four major demonstrations in the post-election period
in three states because we do not believe the election was administered
fairly and honestly. Our principle goal for 2005 is the pursuit of a
constitutional lawsuit brought in federal court in Ohio under the "honest
elections" clause of the Constitution, which is article 2 of the 14th
Amendment. It says that when the right to vote in an election for
president is denied or in any way abridged that the state which has failed
to administer its election honestly will lose representation in the Congress.
TrueVoteMD focuses on requiring Voter Verified Paper Ballots for random
audits and meaninful recounts. We have over 3,500 people active in our
organization and a core group of approximately 30 people. TrueVote is a
non-partisan group made up of members of the major parties, minor parties
and independents. We have people active with the organization from
throughout the United States. In addition, we have a technical committee of
computer, security, and election experts as well as a legal committee.
